Introducing Navigation Plus's qualified instructor

Jenny
I started sailing yachts and dinghies around 1996 and quickly found I loved the sense of freedom that being on the water brings. I owned and raced a Sigma 33 for several years, taking part in many RORC races including the Fastnet. After Fastnet I owned a Bavaria 36 which I sailed in the UK, France and Belgium. I have also organised events for the Wayfarer Association.
I am an RYA Ocean Yachtmaster and have qualified as an instructor to teach practical yachting courses and shore based courses including radio and first aid. I was appointed by the RYA to teach dinghy instructors and to inspect sailing schools.
I have now retired from my job as a specialist nurse and feel lucky to have turned my hobby into an alternative career. I have a special interest in promoting youth and disabled access and worked as a volunteer with Northampton Sailability, UKSA, Tall Ships Youth Trust and The Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust.
